Cecilia Olivet is a trade advisor for The Left group in the European Parliament. Until 2021, she coordinated TNI's Trade and Investment programme, developing research, analysis, campaigning and network facilitation.
Cecilia Olivet is a social scientist who specialises in the European Union's trade and investment agenda and the international investment regime. Cecilia is Uruguayan, has a BA degree in International Relations from Universidad de la República in Uruguay and an MA in International Politics and East Asia from Warwick University, UK. She worked at TNI between 2005 and 2019.
Between 2013 and 2015, Cecilia was a member and chair of a Commission, known as CAITISA, established by Presidential decree to audit Ecuador's bilateral investment treaties (BITs) and investment arbitration cases.
