Fiona Dove has been Executive Director of TNI since 1995. She grew up in South Africa, where she was an anti-apartheid activist from a young age, first active in feminist and anti-militarist organisations as a student, then joining the non-racial labour movement (COSATU) from the mid-1980s. In 1994, she took up a scholarship to complete her studies in The Netherlands.
Fiona holds an MA in Development Studies from the Institute for Social Studies of Erasmus University, Rotterdam, and a BA Honours in Industrial Sociology from the University of KwaZulu Natal. She also earned a post-graduate diploma in evaluation methods from Stellenbosch University.
She serves on the boards of Friends of Code Red (Netherlands), the Pluto Educational Trust (UK), and the advisory board of the Erasmus Mundus Master in Global Studies coordinated by the University of Leipzig.
